Iran has fired more than 180 ballistic missiles at Israel. Most of them were shot down.
The IDF says Iran intended to “kill thousands” of civilians. On the evening of October 1, Iran subjected Israel to its second massive attack in six months, firing more than 180 ballistic missiles at its territory. Most of them, according to IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari, were shot down by Israel and the US-led defense coalition.
As a result of the Iranian attack, according to the latest data, died (video) one person in the area of the city of Jericho on the West Bank. Two more people received minor shrapnel wounds in Tel Aviv, writes The Times of Israel.
The IRGC claims that 90% of the missiles hit targets in Israel. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps names among such targets, in particular, air bases, radar stations, as well as security services that planned the assassinations of senior members of the radical Islamist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. According to the IRGC, the massive missile attack on Israel is a response to the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and the leader of the radical Islamist movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh.
Meanwhile, Israel launched new attacks on Hezbollah targets in Beirut:
