According to preliminary Eurostat data, inflation in Greece was 3% in September. In the Eurozone, the consumer price index rose by just 1.8% in the same month.
In terms of the main components of eurozone inflation, services are expected to record the highest annual rate in September (4.0%, up from 4.1% in August), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (2. 4%, down from 2.3% in August), non-energy industrials (0.4%, stable from August), and energy (-6.0%, down from -3.0% in August).
On a monthly basis, inflation in Greece amounted to 1.7%, in Portugal and Italy – 1.2%.
