A tourist from Israel had a bag of diamonds stolen and then promised to return it for… 500 euros


A 54-year-old tourist, while in a shopping center in the center of Thessaloniki, lost his bag with valuables.

Later, the criminals contacted him and blackmailed him with the return of the stolen goods, demanding 500 euros. The incident was reported to the police by the victim, who came to Thessaloniki for a few days on vacation from Israel. According to him, the bag contained three white gold rings with diamonds and a bracelet, the total value of which exceeds 75,000 euros.

During the investigation conducted by EL.AS., three suspects were arrested: a 45-year-old Ukrainian, a 44-year-old Armenian and a 43-year-old Georgian. They were charged with committing a serious crime. The stolen property was found in the possession of the suspects and returned to the owner.
