The Wall Street Journal: USA "not affected" the victory plan presented by Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has come to the United States to present Biden with a plan for victory. However, some officials have called the Ukrainian plan a “repackaged request” for additional weapons and lifting restrictions on strikes deep into Russian territory.

The US Presidential Administration believes that Zelensky's plan for winning the war against Russia is not detailed enough, reported on Wednesday, September 25, The Wall Street Journal, citing officials familiar with the matter.

The Ukrainian president plans to discuss the plan in detail with Joe Biden during a meeting at the White House on Thursday, where the U.S. administration will hear it in full for the first time. But some U.S. and European officials familiar with key aspects of the plan say it lacks a clear strategy for achieving a Ukrainian victory amid a sustained Russian offensive on the battlefield. One official said:

“I'm not shocked, there's not much new there.”

Biden administration officials say the most detailed part of the Ukraine plan is the weapons requests. Other key elements, such as political reform and economics, remain less specific.

Meanwhile, the Office of the President of Ukraine reported that during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Zelensky briefed Biden on the situation in Ukraine, including at the front. The report says:

“Volodymyr Zelensky focused on the issue of the Victory Plan. The leaders agreed to discuss it during talks in Washington on September 26.”

Volodymyr Zelensky is in the United States, where he has already addressed the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, and met with world leaders. However, the main reason he came to the United States is to present the “victory plan” developed by Kiev to the White House and both US presidential candidates.
