In the capital of Ukraine, three unknown individuals attacked Metropolitan Clement of Crimea and Simferopol and beat him.
The priest is also a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he came to Kyiv at the invitation of the “Crimean Platform”. At about 11:00 p.m. on September 10, he was walking towards the Mikhailovsky Monastery, where he has a cell, when three people attacked him. According to Kliment, to attract attention, the attackers said to him: “Lord, bless me.”
The criminals chose a place where there are no surveillance cameras, so the priest believes the attack was planned. The police are investigating, writes publication “Crimea.Realities”.
The Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) responded to the attack on Metropolitan Clement of Simferopol and Crimea, now a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The OCU press service says:
“From the evidence and proof that we have now, there is no reason to talk about religious or political motives for the incident. The injured metropolitan was given the necessary medical care, and there is currently no threat to his life and health.”
The Kyiv police press service reported that they are checking information about the beating of a clergyman.
