Hellenic Train acknowledged in a new statement on Saturday's incident in Livadia where a mother of three was dragged by a train “the necessary protocols were not followed”.
The company claims that “As a result of a thorough internal investigation, we were disappointed to find that both train drivers and flight attendants failed to follow the required procedures.” The company calls the incident unacceptable and says it will take tough action against those involved.
She concludes: “We intend to continue to improve the level of training of our personnel in order to prevent the recurrence of such isolated cases…”.
Statement from Hellenic Train
“We apologize for the incident that occurred on Saturday, September 7, in Livadia, during which our employees did not comply with the prescribed protocols for the safe boarding and disembarking of passengers, as well as our company code of conduct. Following a thorough internal investigation, we were disappointed to discover that both drivers and flight attendants failed to follow proper procedures.
We consider this incident unacceptable and will therefore apply strict sanctions to those involved in order to prevent similar incidents in the future. We take full responsibility and sincerely regret this unfortunate incident.
We intend to continue to improve the level of training of our personnel to ensure that such incidents do not recur. Our goal is to continuously improve our services, and the safety and trust of passengers is our top priority.”
