In December, almost 2 million benefit recipients will receive emergency assistance totaling 243 million euros (an average of 121 euros per person).
As the Prime Minister stated:
1. 670,000 pensioners with an income of up to 1,600 euros who still have personal difference (προσωπικής διαφοράς)* and the pension increase is minimal, the following will receive the benefit:
- with a personal difference – in the amount of 200 euros for pensions up to 800 euros,
- 150 euros for a pension up to 1100 euros
- 100 euros for pensions up to 1600 euros.
*What is “personal difference”
“Personal difference” (personal difference) in Greek pensions refers to the difference between the pension a person received before the pension reform and the pension calculated under the new rules after the reform. This difference is maintained and paid to pensioners so that their income does not decrease sharply after the changes in the legislation.
2. Recipients of the OPEKA child benefit will receive an additional part of the child benefit. This concerns approximately 767,000 beneficiaries and will cost 70 million euros. As a reminder, the benefit is 70 or 42 or 28 euros per month for the first and second child, depending on the income level, and 140 or 84 or 56 for the third and each subsequent child, per month.
3. 220,000 recipients of disability benefits from OPECA and EFKA, as well as 35,000 uninsured elderly people will receive emergency assistance in the amount of 200 euros, and 205,000 recipients minimum guaranteed income will receive it in Decemberincreased by 50%.
The Prime Minister said that those who three children (about 130,000 families) will be considered large, regardless of incomeand now they will get such privilegeHow:
- appointment to civil service with increased scores,
- additional tax benefits,
- admission to higher education institutions,
- transfer on more favorable terms, etc.
