3 people known to the Greek intelligence service (ΕΥΠ) as employees of the Turkish MIT, were arrested while they were performing “work” on a telecommunications antenna at a medical complex in Lindos.
Citizens of Turkey, two 41-year-olds and one 35-year-old, were spotted yesterday afternoon near the antenna located above the Lindos Regional Medical Centre. The detainees claimedthat they were hired by a Greek company.oh, as it turns out, They did not have a license from the National Postal and Telecommunications Commission (EETT) to do this work, nor a work permit.
The detained Turks had previously attracted the attention of the Greek National Intelligence Service (ΕΥΠ) as employees of MIT – the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (Turkish: Milli İstihbarat Teşkilatı, MİTtransliteration Milli Istikhbarat Teshkilaty – MIT).
A case has been opened against them, which is expected to be referred to the service's prosecutor.
