Former US President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, refuses to debate Kamala Harris.
His rival is “pushing” Trump to hold an ABC News debate he has scheduled against President Joe Biden on Sept. 10. But Trump said he was hesitant to debate the incumbent vice president, he said on Fox Business Network on Aug. 2. quotes Hill:
“Harris is better than President Joe Biden, but worse than me. Now I say, why should I debate? I'm leading in the polls. And everyone knows her, and everyone knows me.”
He noted that it was Biden's team that insisted on the June debates, after which Democrats called on the president to withdraw his candidacy.
Let us recall that during the vote, the Democrats chose their official candidate for the US presidency in the 2024 elections – the current Vice President Kamala Harris. 3,923 Democrats voted for her. She became the first black woman to be a Democratic presidential candidate, and also has a chance to be the first woman to lead the US.
Trump said his likely presidential rival Harris only recently “started pretending to be black” to win over African-Americans, although she previously identified herself as Indian.
