In Vienna, armed clashes took place between people from Chechnya and Syria, which the local press is calling a “civil war of emigrant gangs.”
The police are investigating, they write “Caucasus Realities”. The conflicts began a year ago, and in July there were at least two mass armed clashes, not counting isolated attacks. For example, on July 5, in a park in the busy district of Vienna-Brigittenau, two Syrians were shot and one native of Chechnya was stabbed. In total, about 30 people took part in the conflict, most of whom fled.
The next day, a clash was prevented at the same place. But on July 7, a mass brawl broke out at the Meidling metro station, with four people seriously injured. The Chechens claim that the Syrians are attacking them, and they are forced to defend themselves.
The police have already confirmed that all three incidents are connected, and the possible cause is a fight for control over the city's districts. According to another version, the clashes began on domestic grounds due to a desire to take revenge for insults inflicted.
The topic overlapped with the parliamentary election campaign that is now beginning in Austria. The right-wing “Freedom Party of Austria” (FPÖ) blamed the mayor of Vienna from the Socialist Party for what happened and called for the immediate deportation of all those involved in the fights.
It is worth noting that a similar situation is also observed in Greece, although not between Chechens and Syrians, but between Afghans, Pakistanis And Moroccans.
People from Morocco and Pakistan have long settled in Greece and until 2020 “held” small-scale wholesale and retail trade in both hard drugs and soft drugs, such as marijuana (competing in this with gypsies and Albanians). However, starting in 2020, Afghans began to take an active role in the shadow business, acting with their characteristic pressure and cruelty. People from other African countries are also trying to push them out (Cameroon etc.), crowds of which have literally filled the capital of Greece in recent years.
Some mass fights the stabbings went relatively unnoticed against the backdrop bloody showdowns among the traditional “Greek mafia”, but were noticed by police analysts. Judging by the cessation of major clashes in recent months, the parties have found a compromise, apparently dividing up the sales markets. However, among such a crowd, agreements do not last long.
