Two men were injured when a helicopter crash landed in a field on the island of Kefalonia on Thursday morning.
The two Greeks, the pilot and one passenger, aged 60 and 65, were taken to a local hospital where they are reportedly being treated for minor injuries. According to eyewitnesses, the helicopter made several circles over the Kleisma and Palio Linos areas before landing in a field in the Leivatos area.
As soon as the message about the accident was received, the fire department and the police arrived at the scene. The helicopter reportedly suffered a sudden mechanical failure while members of the Kefalonia Aero Club were flying over the Ionian Sea. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
