Spirit Day weekend is a good chance to take a break from work for three days in a row and maybe take a short trip. In this connection, the Greek National Meteorological Service released a weather forecast for the coming days.
Unstable weather is expected to persist in our country until Friday (2/6), and on the three days of the Holy Spirit (τριήμερο του Αγίου Πνεύματος) the weather will noticeably improve.
In particular, according to the forecasts of the meteorologist Clearchos Marousakis, in within three days a warm air front will be established in our country. As a result instability observed in recent days with rains (especially during the noon and afternoon hours), will be significantly lowered. The air temperature will begin to rise and even reach +30°C degrees in the Dodecanese region.
Weather forecast for Wednesday 31 May
Partly cloudy with occasional showers and showers (in western and central Macedonia, Thessaly and Sporades), with storms and thunderstorms likely in the middle of the day and in the rest of mainland Greece. Visibility in the morning and evening hours is limited in places, fog is possible in the northwestern continental regions.
Wind variable, east / northeast 3-4 points, changing to south to 5 points on the Beaufort scale. The air temperature will not change significantly and will reach +25-27°C in the Ionian Sea and continental areas, as well as +23-25°C in the Aegean Sea.
Thursday weather (1/6)
Partly cloudy with occasional rain (in the Ionian Sea region and mainland Greece). Showers and thunderstorms in the west in the afternoon. Visibility in the morning hours in continental areas will be locally limited. Wind variable, east/northeast, force 3 to 5, and in the Aegean Sea in places force 6 on the Beaufort scale. The air temperature will rise slightly.
Friday weather (2/6)
Partly cloudy with occasional rain (in the afternoon). By evening, the phenomena will be limited to the eastern part of the Aegean Sea. Wind from the north direction from 3 to 5 points, and in the Dodecanese in some places from the east 6 points on the Beaufort scale. The air temperature will not change significantly.
Saturday weather forecast (3/6)
In the eastern part of the Aegean, cloudy, occasional rains and storms (with a gradual improvement in weather). In the rest of the country, almost clear weather with temporary cloudiness in the midday and afternoon hours. In areas of continental Greece, in some places it rains or showers.
Visibility in the morning hours (in the western continental regions) will be locally limited. Wind variable west / northwest from 3 to 5 points, in some places south to 6 points on the Beaufort scale. The air temperature will rise.
Sunday weather (4/6)
Generally clear weather with some cloudiness during midday and afternoon hours. In the continental regions of Greece, in some places it will rain, and in the central, northern and mountainous regions – thunderstorms. Visibility in the morning hours in the western continental regions will be locally limited. The wind is northerly, changing to the north-west direction, up to 3-5 points on the Beaufort scale.
