A heavy wind, accompanied by a downpour, hit Ptolemais (Kozani) and Eordea at noon on Saturday. During the weather cataclysms, hail fell and the streets turned white.
According to e-ptolemeos.gr, between 30 and 35 millimeters of water fell within half an hour, as a result of which part of the city was flooded, and the storm drain system failed.
In the municipality of Eordei, communal workers took to the streets to restore order. Weather control activities were led by the Deputy Mayor and Civil Protection Officer.
The situation seems to be getting back to normal. Currently, the fire department patrols the area, pumping water from flooded houses and basements. Received 5 requests for help.
