Partial strike of buses and trolleybuses

Today, April 4, buses and trolleybuses will enter the line at 09:00 am and finish work at 21:00 – such a decision was made ΟΑΣΑ and ΟΣΥ.

The decision was made at an extraordinary board meeting held on Monday, April 3. Thus, buses and trolleybuses will remain in the park from the beginning of the shift until 09:00 am and from 9:00 pm until the end of the shift. The main demands of the strikers:

• renewal of rolling stock;
• provision of spare parts;
• hiring staff.

They demand “the fulfillment of the obligations of the government and an end to the abuse of the population and workers in order to guarantee them safe and high-quality public transport.” The statement says:

“After the tragic accident in Tempi, when we mourned the innocent victims, the need now is to provide our passengers and our colleagues with safe public mass transportation by updating our fleet and introducing ΕΣΣΕ.”

Routes handed over to bus companies are expected to operate as normal despite the shutdown.
