The Athens Trade Association on Friday announced the proposed opening hours for stores during the Easter holidays.
According to the proposal, the Easter holiday season appears to be extended, when it usually starts on Maundy Monday. Before Easter, which in Greece this year is celebrated on April 16, the festive shopping season will begin on Thursday, April 6.
Thursday, April 6: 09:00–21:00
Friday, April 7: 09:00–21:00
Saturday, April 8: 09:00–18:00
Sunday, April 9: 11:00–18:00
Monday-Thursday April 10-13: 09:00 – 21:00
Good Friday: 13:00–19:00
Holy Saturday: 09:00–15:00
Shops in Athens will be closed on Easter Sunday and Monday.
Please note that supermarkets and grocery stores are usually open longer on Saturdays (until 20:00) and Holy Saturday, and most of them are open on Sundays when shops are open. To be sure, check on the spot.
