On Sunday, March 26, Director of Traffic ΟΣΕ Konstantinos Chrysagis died in a traffic accident.
According to the website notia.gr, the accident occurred at noon on Sunday at the 38th km of Athens, Sounio Avenue. A 66-year-old man was riding a motorcycle from Varkiza. At the height of Lagonissi, he wanted to overtake the car and “wedged” into the oncoming flow of cars.
The motorcycle collided with two vehicles, first with the side of a van and then head-on with a car following a covered truck. The two drivers of the vehicles were initially arrested for manslaughter, but some time later they were released on the oral order of the prosecutor, since no degree of guilt was found against them.
The police received testimony from eyewitnesses who confirmed that the motorcycle was moving at high speed in the opposite direction. The van and car involved in the accident were taken to the police parking lot.
It should be noted that the deceased was an important person in the investigation railway tragedy in TempeAnd. In the past, he was also one of the members of the three-person committee set up to issue the official opinion of the ΟΣΕ (on the 2017 Adendros accident).
