Traffic restrictions will be put in place in downtown Athens for a military parade celebrating Greek Independence Day on March 25, Greek police said on Wednesday.
On Saturday, all traffic through Syntagma Square will be stopped from 06:00. Restrictions will be lifted at approximately 12 noon, shortly after the parade ends.
The area closed to traffic includes the streets around Syntagma Square, the main and secondary streets leading to the square and the center of Athens, up to Syngrou Avenue and the Lycabettus area.
The problems will also affect ground public transport, the routes of which run through the center of Athens.
