On Saturday 25/03, events will be held in Attica to celebrate the national anniversary of March 25, 1821.
According to ΓΕΕΘΑ, at 06:21 in the morning the Lycabettus artillery will fire 21 salute shots, and the military band will traditionally perform “Eotinos” (εκτέλεση Εωθινού).
At 08:00, the official raising of the State flag on the Acropolis will take place. At 10:00, an official doxology will take place in the Athens Cathedral, in the presence of the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Hieronymus II, and the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
At 10:01, 21 salute shots will be fired again, and at 10:55, the President of the Hellenic Republic will lay a wreath at the monument to the Unknown Soldier on Syntagma.
At 11:00 a parade of the Greek Armed Forces will take place.
At 18:41, the official lowering of the State Flag on the Acropolis is scheduled, accompanied by 21 salute shots.
From today, Friday, March 24, until Sunday, March 26, the frigate Themistocles and the high-speed missile patrol boat Karathanasis will be moored in the port of Piraeus, and the public will be able to visit them freely. Also, everyone will be provided free admission to the Military Museum. At the same time, parades of military units and related events will be held throughout Greece.
