Very little time is left before the appearance in stores of a new “family basket”, which received the name “Godfather’s basket” on the eve of Easter.
“Basket” (“Καλάθι των Νονών”) was presented today by the leadership of the Ministry of Development and, as emphasized, the measure of assistance to the population will come into force next Wednesday March 29. “This measure is similar to the one that was in effect during the Christmas holidays and was called the Santa Claus Basket. During the festive Easter season, its equivalent will be the “Godfather’s Basket”, which will include various gifts, toys. They can be purchased in stores at really better prices. This name was given because on holidays, according to the established tradition, godparents go to their godchildren and give them gifts,” said Minister of Development and Investment Adonis Georgiadis.
Sotiris Anagnostopoulos, Secretary General for Trade and Consumer Protection, said that the “godfather’s basket” would include 12 product categories. These include Easter candles – a souvenir that is very important for everyone who has nieces, nephews and godchildren. In order to find gifts for kids at as low prices as possible, the “basket” will also include: board games, puzzles, toys for dolls (doll houses and other accessories), children’s toys in assortment, constructors (sets for creativity), cars (remote control vehicles), electronic toys, sports equipment, soft toys, musical instruments and school eggs with a surprise inside.
Each store will try to offer as many categories of goods for children as possible. Adonis Georgiadis emphasized: “Santa’s Basket” worked very well, and we expect the Easter one to be great as well. Our goal is to offer gifts at lower prices so that everyone can buy souvenirs for everyone: both for children and for our loved ones, friends. We want no child (or person dear to our heart) to be deprived of what is absolutely necessary for a good time during these holidays.
