According to former US President Donald Trump, he will be taken into custody on Tuesday. The upcoming arrest is related to the payment of a sum of money for his silence to a porn star, in the run-up to the 2016 elections.
How informs BB.LV, the former US president wrote on his social network Truth Social, referring to the authenticity of the “leak” from the Manhattan prosecutor’s office:
“The leading Republican candidate and former US president will be arrested on Tuesday next week. Protest, take back the country!
The ex-president does not release details or explain why he is so certain of his arrest. Trump’s legal team anticipated this turn of events and prepared for the next steps.
Trump is expected to appear in court in Manhattan to face formal charges, and has already expressed interest in speaking afterward. In private, the former president has complained that he is convinced he is indicted because Manhattan Attorney General Alvin Bragg “hates him,” a source close to Trump said.
Some advisers to the ex-president advise him to avoid calling for protests, fearing the impact of mass protests in Manhattan on Trump’s image, which has already suffered as a result of Riots in the Capitol January 6, 2021.
The ongoing investigation is centered on a $130,000 payment to silence porn star Stormy Daniels, which was given to her just weeks before the 2016 presidential election. The purpose of this largesse was to force Daniels not to reveal an affair that the porn star allegedly had with Trump years ago.
