The US has confirmed the use of Chinese munitions in Ukraine, without disclosing which ones.
As writes Japanese edition Kyodo News, citing government sources, the United States suspects that Chinese munitions were fired by Russian forces. The conclusion that they were made in China is made on the basis of several factors, after analysis, including their composition.
US administration sources say it is not yet clear whether the munitions were supplied by China. Washington is ready to take action if it finds confirmation that Beijing has made these deliveries.
Confirmation of the origin of the munitions comes as Chinese leader Xi Jinping is planning a three-day state visit to Moscow next week. On his first trip to Russia since the start of its invasion of Ukraine, Xi Jinping is expected to reaffirm his close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The media are also reporting Xi Jinping’s intention to speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the first time since a full-scale war. Probably, this will happen after a trip to Moscow.
