One-time financial assistance in the amount of 200-300 euros

The system of pension payments e-ΕΦΚΑ has completely changed since January 1, 2023, due to the increase in basic pensions by 7.75%.

And today it became known that a provision on emergency support for pensioners with personal difference (προσωπική διαφορά)who receive low and medium pensions. The allowance in the amount of 200 and 300 euros will be received by about 1 million pensioners, which, as promised, will be paid before the end of the month. A one-time financial assistance of 200-300 euros is set for pensioners who partially (or completely) did not benefit from the 7.75% increase that came into force on January 1, 2023. The benefit applies to all pensioners with personal difference and with a basic pension income of up to 1,600 euros per month, i.e. per 1,112,000 pensioners. The amount of assistance depends on the amount of the pension paid and the personal difference.

In this context:

1. Pensioners who did not see a 7.75% increase at all due to a personal difference and receive a basic pension of up to 1,100 euros will receive emergency assistance of 300 euros.
2. Pensioners who did not see a 7.75% increase at all and receive a basic pension of more than 1100-1600 euros per month (or saw a smaller increase, up to 3.49%), emergency one-time support from 250 euros to 1100 euros is provided.
3. Pensioners who receive an increase of up to 3.49% and receive a basic pension from 1,100 euros to 1,600 euros, or an increase of 3.5% to 6.99% and receive a basic pension of up to 1,100 euros, will receive an extraordinary 200 euros.

Emergency Financial Assistance is paid through March 31, 2023. It is not taxed, not subject to assignment and withholding in favor of a third party (alimony, debts, etc.). The payment does not count towards the income limit, does not prevent the payment of any social benefits and is not subject to any fees or other deductions in favor of the state or ΕΦΚΑ.
