“What?” ranked the top 10 Greek islands. Mykonos in last place

British magazine “Which?” (“Which?”) asked 1,000 of its readers to rate the top 10 Greek islands.

It’s hard to believe, but the cosmopolitan and famous Mykonos came in last place in the ranking. According to readers of the British magazine “Which?”, which is the “information platform” of consumers, the island “does not hold up in many respects.” Readers were asked to rate 10 Greek islands in a variety of ways, from beaches and food to value for money.

At the top of the list was the island of Kefalonia, the only one to receive 5 stars in the category “beaches” as well as in the category “food”. It received four stars for “accommodation and value for money” and three for “attractions and shopping”.

Thanks to the scores, Kefalonia stole the lead from Lefkada, which this year tied for second place with Skiathos with 84%.

The fact that Mykonos ended up at the bottom of the list came as a surprise. The Cycladic island, which is preferred every year by Greek and foreign tourists from all over the world, has been described by readers of Which? as “crowded” and “expensive”. In addition, a reader recommended visiting it during the off-season. It is worth noting that the cosmopolitan island received only two stars for quality and price.

“If you are planning a trip to a Greek island, you have many options,” said Joe Rhodes on behalf of Which?, noting that each Greek island has “its own idiosyncrasies and hidden treasures to discover.”

“Kefalonia, Skiathos and Lefkada, which were in the top three this year, received high scores in the comfort and tranquility category. Party-loving Mykonos was last on the list, as visitors found it too crowded and too expensive,” the expert added.

  1. Kefalonia 85%
  2. Lefkada 84%
  3. Skiathos 84%
