Protest march on Syntagma: 15 people detained

In Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as in many other cities in Greece, there are large-scale protest rallies in connection with the terrible railway accident in Tempi.

Thousands of citizens took to the streets of cities with the intention to express their protest. In addition to trade unions, schoolchildren and students took part in the demonstrations. The families of the victims of the tragedy in Tempi intend to sue all those responsible, demanding justice. Sympathizers are becoming more and more. Victims are preparing to turn to justice to identify the real, not the designated perpetrators, in order to avoid a similar tragedy in the future.

The guardians of order, the Greek law enforcement agencies, took appropriate measures to protect civilians, participants in the rallies. According to ΕΛΑΣ, as a result of checks carried out before the start of the protest march, 15 arrests have already been made. At the same time, three offenders will be arrested, and the rest will be released. The detainees had flares with them, and one of them had a copy of a military weapon (replica).

Recall, as the Athens News wrote earlier, a similar protest march took place on Sunday, March 5. The demonstrators were dispersed noise flares and tear gas.
