The ambulance team decided to wash a 70-year-old woman … in the yard with a hose to prevent “contamination” of the company car by laying her naked on the ground at the entrance to a residential building.

The unprecedented mistreatment of a patient by the ambulance crew is being investigated by the municipality of Oropos. The incident was brought to the attention of Oropos Mayor Georgios Jasimakis, who reacted immediately.

The mayor called the private company and asked the owner the reason for this incident, as well as personally talking to employees of the brigade, who, he says, gave various excuses for this behavior. For example… they didn’t have water or other facilities to wash the woman before she was transported.

The mayor demanded that the owner of the company immediately remove this team and ordered an administrative investigation into the incident, which will begin on Monday morning. His statement says:

“Some time ago, I was informed of the sad incident of our unfortunate fellow citizen, who was stripped on the porch of an apartment building by an ambulance crew owned by a company with which the municipality has a contract. As a person, I unequivocally condemn this unacceptable incident and feel disgust and shame “As mayor, I have already given instructions to urgently investigate and hold those responsible to account. I have also contacted the owner of the company and asked him to remove this team from work in the municipal ambulance. I want to assure my fellow citizens that such inhuman behavior, no matter where it did not proceed, will not go unpunished.”

It should be noted that the woman, according to sources, suffers from psychiatric problems, but this fact does not justify would-be doctors, but on the contrary, requires even greater care and respect in her treatment, notes CNN Greece.
