Tear gas and fires at Syntagma – protest against the tragedy in Tempi (video)

A lot of people gathered last night, March 3, in the central square of the Greek capital near the parliament, where a suffocating atmosphere reigned. Protest action against the railway catastrophes in Tempi was accompanied by riots and clashes with the police.

Among those gathered there were many students who lit candles in memory of the dead with the inscription “call me when you come“. A group of protesters threw flares towards the police, who responded with tear gas. Many people left the scene of the incident in a hurry. Some of the protesters moved towards Ermou Street and shops, the owners of which hastily closed the shops.
