Passenger train IC 62, en route from Athens to Thessaloniki, collided head-on with a freight train at Tempi. As a result of the crash, 32 people died and 85 were injured. Rescue work continues.
About 350 passengers were on the train at the time of the accident. As a result of the collision, a fire broke out, and panic reigned. Work continues to release passengers. The wounded were taken to hospitals, 53 people were hospitalized.
