Child Benefit: A-21 online platform opened, how the amount is calculated

The A21 online platform is open and has been operating since March 1. It will remain open and will accept new applications until 18:00 March 13.

The platform will be temporarily closed until March 30, 2023 to process applications and calculate payments for the first two months of 2023.

Child benefit recipients can apply on the ΗΔΙΚΑ platform, www.idika.gror through the website www.opeka.grusing the recipient’s Taxisnet passwords.

The corresponding amount will be calculated based on the number of dependent children reported in A21 for 2023 and the total household income that recipients had in tax year 2021. After filing the income tax return for the current year, income for the 2022 tax year will be taken into account to calculate the amount due.

Children’s attendance at compulsory education

It should be noted that from now on, among the conditions that will be tested for the granting of the child allowance are the participation of children in compulsory education, from preschool to high school age, and the regularity of attendance*. On the A21 application, you must enter the appropriate fields, such as the school, grade, and registration number of the child who is in the compulsory education system.

If all of the student’s cross-referenced information is correct, the application can proceed normally. If the data does not overlap, the application is marked accordingly and the applicant is asked to attach the necessary supporting documents to the A21 electronic application.

Citizens should be aware that in order for an application to be completed, it must be finally submitted and approved. A cached application is considered unsubmitted and will not be considered.

* The measure is aimed mainly at the Roma, who usually ignore school and compulsory education. This measure may force them to attend school.
