Greek law enforcement agencies, after inspections, began to arrest 12 people for separate crimes related to violation of the country’s legislation.
As part of the identification of victims of human trafficking, inspections were carried out in six brothels in the center of Athens, five of which were repeatedly sealed by the competent municipal authority. During the checks, three more women were detained for violating the Extradition Law. Those arrested against whom criminal proceedings have been initiated will be taken to the Athens District Attorney’s Office and the competent municipal authority will be informed of the re-closure of the brothel.
Recall, “Athenian News” spoke in detail about a study on the topic “From human trafficking to corrupt love”, conducted by Greek experts. The first part of the social study dealt with such a problem as “human trafficking and sex trafficking”. Experts, scientists and public figures expressed their opinion on this matter.
