54,000 new program beneficiaries "Recycle – change device"

An additional 54,680 beneficiaries from the existing list of second place beneficiaries were announced by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, according to which more than half of the citizens who applied, joined the program.

As noted, after the inclusion of new beneficiaries, a total of 435,271 applicants are given the opportunity to replace their old energy-intensive electrical appliances with new, more energy-efficient ones, which is more than 50% of those who have applied under the program to date.

About the program “Utilization – replacement of the water heater”

It is noted that the original budget of the Recycling – Replace Device program has almost doubled, and the total resources have reached 287 million euros. New beneficiaries are notified by private messages on their mobile phones.

How the program works

Recall that the program provides for a subsidy of up to 50% for the purchase of a new “green” device, while the percentage and size of the subsidy are determined depending on the income of the recipient and the type of device. In order to be able to subsidize the purchase of a new electrical device, an old one that belongs to the same category as the subsidized one must be removed for recycling.

Up to three electrical appliances

Each household that joins the program will be able to replace up to three electrical appliances (up to 2 air conditioners, refrigerator or freezer) for the main or additional housing, own or rented. Eligibility criteria include income and number of family members with extra points for single parents and people with disabilities.

Which devices need to be replaced:

  1. Refrigerators.
  2. Freezers.
  3. Conditioners.

Which devices are not subsidized:

  • Electric stoves.
  • Washing machines.
  • Dishwashers.

An important element of the process is to ensure that the old device, which will be marked with a special QR code, is disposed of under the responsibility of the seller, and that a new device with a high energy class is installed.

The Ministry of Environment and Energy estimates that 200,000 households will benefit from the program and more than 380,000 devices will be recycled. The average energy savings for each household is estimated at 1,000 kWh per year. This means that a household with an average consumption of up to 5,000 kWh per year can achieve energy savings of up to 25%.
