Forties of the late former King Constantine of Greece


Traffic on Mitropoleos Street was stopped due to the memorial service of the former King Constantine.

Greek law enforcement authorities have suspended the movement of vehicles on Mitropoleos Street (from the height of Syntagma Square) as part of security measures on the occasion of the day of remembrance (magpies), 40 days that have passed since the date of the funeral of the late Tsar Constantine.

Shortly before 11 am on February 18, Saturday, members of the family of Constantine, his wife Anna-Maria, the children of Alexia, Pavlos, Nikolaos, Philippos and Theodora, followed their wives to the Metropolis of Athens. The sisters of the former Tsar Konstantin Sophia and Irina were also in the church, and this time the grandchildren were not able to visit our country.

The forties were also attended by several members of the Greek public, close friends, former classmates of the former king, businessmen and politicians, including Adonis Georgiadis and Makis Voridis. After the commemoration, the family of the former king “lined up” on the steps of the metropolis and greeted the people.

According to the program, a memorial table with light refreshments was organized at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Tomorrow, eminent persons are expected to visit the grave of the deceased in Tatoi.

Recall that on January 10, 2023, at the age of 83, he died former King Constantine of Greece. The crowned lady was buried in the former royal estate tatoi. At the royal cemetery near the Church of the Resurrection, a memorial service and burial were held next to the graves of their ancestors, as he wanted.
