Russian Ambassador to Greece: "The risk of a complete rupture of bilateral relations is not visible"

Russian Ambassador to Greece Andrei Maslov believes that Athens and Moscow will not sever bilateral ties.

He stated this in interview RIA News. The diplomat noted that Greece has stopped cooperation with Russia in all areas, but the risk of a complete rupture of bilateral relations is not yet visible:

“Last year, after the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, the Greek side, despite the traditionally friendly nature of our bilateral relations, rooted in deep history, completely stopped cooperation with Russia in all areas. Today, only working contacts with the Foreign Ministry remain Greece. There is no risk of a complete rupture of bilateral relations.”

According to Maslov, this year the employees of the Russian diplomatic mission are celebrating the Day of the Diplomatic Worker “under difficult conditions”:

“It is obvious to everyone that the collective West has declared war on Russia, and in all areas: in the political, trade, economic, information, cultural and humanitarian spheres. confrontation between the USSR and the USA. But the Western leaders of those years still showed much more sanity than their current successors. Today they are driven by a blind hatred of Russia.”

The diplomat said that, despite this, on the Day of the diplomatic worker, the embassy staff will traditionally honor the memory of prominent Russian diplomats resting on Greek soil.
