Park for the disabled with swimming pools and treatment rooms to open this summer

Near the old airport in Elliniko, a special theme park is being built for the disabled and those with multiple sclerosis.

The governor of Attica, Georgios Patoulis, after having been informed by the mayor of Elliniko-Argyroupoli G. Konstantatos about the relevant proposal and the prepared study, promised that the region will contribute to the construction of the park and provide the specialized equipment required for this, which can be used by both people with special needs and and all citizens.

The offer concerns a plot of more than 10 hectares next to the building complex, which is being built according to the plan of the municipality and Lamda Development and is expected to be completed this summer. Swimming pools, clinics will be created on the territory, which will be able to receive at least 500 disabled children, as well as people suffering from multiple sclerosis. According to the project, it will be a theme park for the disabled. Given that the specific point is located next to the metro station, everyone will be able to use it.

In his statement, Mr. Patoulis emphasized the importance he attaches to issues relating to people with special needs. The official noted that “this is a landmark park.” Mr. Patoulis said: “We must be aware of the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and contribute to the practical improvement of their quality of life. We must ensure their autonomous, equal and safe access and participation in all aspects of life every day. our common goal is that no one with a disability or chronic disease should be left on the sidelines of life“. Mr. Konstantatos thanked the regional governor for his immediate response, noting that his knowledge of self-government matters is making a decisive contribution to resolving important issues in Attica.
