The countdown to the opening of the Market Pass platform has begun. Deputy Development Minister Nikos Papathanasis said that the purchase card will appear by February 15th.

“After submitting applications, the money will be credited directly to the beneficiaries’ accounts by March 3. For those who choose intangible map, they will be able to use it everywhere – in supermarkets, butchers, fish and fruit shops (and even in street markets) where they can pay using POS. For those who decide to put money into a bank account, the payout will be made in three months and the amount will be reduced by 20%,” Mr. Papathanasis emphasized.

The online application for new financial assistance will begin in mid-February and close on March 15, 2023.

Citizens who submitted applications before 02/28/2023 will receive the first installments of assistance no later than 03/03/2023, and those who apply between March 1 and 15 will receive the first installments until 03/20/2023.

There are essentially two criteria for a household to join the program: the 2021 annual income declared last year, and the total value of all properties owned by the family (their objective value calculated in 2022).

According to the decision of the Ministry of Finance, the annual income for singles should not exceed 16,000 euros, and for married people without children – 24,000 euros. For each family member, if he is a protected child or a guest, the income limit is increased by 5,000 euros.

Regarding the real estate limit, the value based on ΕΝΦΙΑ-2022 is set to 250,000 euros for singles and 400,000 euros for married and single-parent families, regardless of the number of members.

The monthly subsidy is 10% from the maximum set purchase limit and is determined depending on the marital status of the recipient. For example, for singles, this purchase limit is set at 220 euros, so the monthly subsidy is 22 euros and the six-month subsidy is 132 euros. For a married person without children or a single parent with 1 child, the maximum monthly purchase amount is 320 euros, so the monthly subsidy is 32 euros and the six-month subsidy is 192 euros.

For each additional family member, the amount of monthly purchases is increased by 100 euros and the subsidy by 10 euros, with a maximum subsidy of 100 euros or 600 euros for 6 months. These amounts refer to 100% of the subsidy that occurs if someone uses intangible digital card. If the consumer prefers to receive money in his bank account, then instead of 100% subsidy, he will receive 80%, the newspaper writes. Οικονομικός Ταχυδρόμος.
