On the night of Sunday, January 29, at the Heroes’ Square of the Polytechnic in the Nea Smyrni area, unknown persons attacked a 15-year-old teenager with a knife.
According to TV channel ANT1, a group of minors settled down on the square and waited for him to return home. It was between 10pm and 10:30pm when there were enough people around.
Seeing the victim, the minors approached him and, threatening with reprisals, demanded that he hand over his mobile phone and money. The guy began to resist, and he was hit with a knife. Having seized the booty, the criminals fled the scene.
“I heard screams. They say the attack was committed on a Ukrainian. A small amount of money and a mobile phone were taken from the guy. There were a lot of people on the spot, the situation got out of control, and someone stabbed someone. I don’t know who offended whom. There are rumors that the attackers were not found… I don’t know if they were caught later. After the incident, the attackers immediately disappeared… The incident took place at the kiosk, on the square, near the steak house, at about 22:00. Cafeterias were working as usual, people were walking,” said the owner of a catering establishment in the area.
The boy was taken to the hospital. At present, his life is not in danger. An investigation is underway.
