Fake funeral due to… curiosity

The work of the Brazilian Balthazar Lemos was associated with attending funerals. And one day he thought about it: how will his own rite of farewell go?

And most importantly, how many people will come to his funeral and how will they react? To satisfy his curiosity, the 60-year-old man decided to fake his own death. As he later admitted, the preparation process took him five months. And all in order to “see who’s coming to the funeral” writes Oddity Central.

When everything was ready, he, for starters, posted a photo of himself, a loved one, in one of the hospitals on his social media account. And then, the next day, he announced his death through a fake account.

The Lemos family was shocked. One of the nephews rushed to the hospital to find out what had happened. But… there were no records of Lemos’s hospitalization there. Meanwhile, friends of the “deceased” posted mournful posts on social networks, and information about the time and place of the funeral was posted on the Lemos page.

On January 18, the family, friends and acquaintances of the false deceased gathered in a small chapel to say goodbye to him. At some point, the voice of the deceased resounded, telling about his life. Many present, thinking that this was a recording of Lemos made before his death, could not hold back their tears. But suddenly the doors of the altar opened, and the “deceased” came out to them in full health.

The Brazilian confessed to those present why he faked his death, but his relatives did not understand him and accused him of cruelty. In addition, Lemos drew attention to the fact that his 80-year-old mother, chained to a wheelchair, could not survive the news of her son’s death.

After the media publicity, Lemos clarified that he never meant to cause people grief, but that it was the only way to know who would mourn his passing and apologized.

However, when making a short excursion around the expanses of the Internet, you can see that the idea is not new. And far from always it is embodied in reality because of curiosity. Rather, because of commercialism, the desire to hide and other similar reasons. Here, for example, are the TOP 5 STARS WHO rigged their death (theory):
