Terrorist attack in Jerusalem: fire was opened on those leaving the synagogue after Friday night prayer


As a result of the terrorist attack in Jerusalem, eight people were killed and ten were injured. The terrorist is killed.

On Friday, January 27, in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood in Jerusalem, a man drove up in a car and opened fire on people leaving the synagogue. After that, he tried to escape in his car (pictured), but was killed by security forces, reports jpost.

Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai arrived on the scene shortly after the attack took place. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been informed, he receives all the data from the investigation from the scene. Medics are at the scene of the incident, providing assistance to the injured. MDA paramedic Fady Dekydek says:

“We saw a woman and four men lying on the road. They received gunshot wounds and showed no signs of life, and we had to ascertain their death. Three more wounded, including a 70-year-old woman in critical condition, were evacuated to the Hadassah hospital on Mount Scopus. We are trained in this. Unfortunately, we cannot forget the terrorist attack, and we experience each new one. There’s nothing to be done, it’s time to act professionally, because that’s the difference between life and death.”

In response to the incident in Jenin and other Arab cities, celebrations were held across Israel, including fireworks and shots fired into the air. The police search the area for possible other terrorists.

A photo of a man who fired near a synagogue appeared on the Web, the picture was published by the Israeli media. According to the Israeli TV channel i24NEWS, the name of the suspect is Fadi Ayash. Hamas spokesman Hazzem Qassem said the attack was a response to an operation carried out by Israeli special forces the day before in Jenin, during which 9 Palestinians were killed.
