The Ministry of Digital Governance started by registering a new service on gov.gr.

Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis announced the launch of a new digital service on gov.gr to open your own individual business.

As the Minister of Digital Governance noted, “Thousands of enterprises are created every day, last year there were 50,000 of them. Citizens needed more than 5 visits to authorities in order to be able to receive certain certificates and documents. These five visits now take 5 minutes. Everything is now done digitally via gov.gr. Undoubtedly, this is progress.”

Mr. Pierrakakis talked about “the many existing administrative (bureaucratic) procedures, the policy of ‘duplication’, and the fact that in the past the state did not put the citizen at the center of its interests.”

In turn, Minister of State Georgios Gerapetridis noted that now “with one click, a citizen can easily, accessibly and functionally find out which procedure to follow.” And also stated that “for the first time, civil servants will be hired in inter-ministerial units who will respond to current problems (with the aim of resolving them), that is, digital analysts, public policy analysts and lawyers.” “We will continue to work to make life easier for citizens,” Mr. Gerapetritis concluded.

Minister of Development and Investment Adonis Georgiadis also emphasized that “today you can create your individual business from your mobile phone via gov.gr and start your business activity as soon as possible to contribute to GDP growth, falling unemployment, and strengthen the well-being of the Greek people, and also to realize their dream.” As he noted, “everything that has been done has changed the business climate in our country.”
