Greece will fence off from Turkey with a high fence

Greece intends to build a fence on the border with Turkey, construction begins immediately.

As writes BB.LV, the length of the fence along the border, along the entire length of the Evros River, will be 180 km. This was stated by the Minister for the Protection of Citizens, Takis Theodorikakos. The decision of the government council for foreign affairs and defense of Greece was announced by the press service of the ministry:

“Our neighbors know very well that there is no room for continued exploitation of unfortunate people. The borders of Greece on Evros are impregnable, and there is no doubt about that.

Theodorikakos explained that the construction of the first 35 kilometers of the fence in the central part will begin immediately, and the budget allocated by the government will be 100 million euros. The minister said that in the past 2022, the Greek police arrested 1,300 traffickers and prevented the illegal entry of 256,000 illegal immigrants into the country. He called Turkey the initiator.
