The outbreak of coronavirus cases in China has caused alarm in Europe, and countries have decided to take emergency measures. Today, an extraordinary meeting of the Greek authorities with the leadership of the Ministry of Health took place in Megaros Maximos. According to the information EU recommendations will also apply in Greece, and now from travelers from China will be required to have a negative rapid test 48 hours prior to departure from China, as well as mandatory use of a high-protection mask.
Measure for mandatory testing will apply to both travelers arriving on direct flights from China and those arriving in our country on transit flights. In the near future, official statements will be made by the Ministry of Health.
German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach announced that the country is changing its entry rules for travelers from China and will now require at least a negative rapid coronavirus test. In addition, at the entrance to the country will be carried out random checks for any variants of the coronavirus, as well as advanced wastewater monitoringhe said in today’s statement.
Earlier today Sweden, along with several other countries, has announced that travelers from China will be required to present a negative coronavirus test before entering the country. On Wednesday, EU member states agreed on a coordinated preventive approach in light of developments related to the spread of COVID-19 in China, the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council said in a statement.
According to the APE, the decisions were taken at a meeting of the Integrated Political Crisis Response (IPCR), with the participation of member states and associated countries of the Schengen Agreement.
