On the morning of January 2, an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale struck near Methoni.
The epicenter of the tremors is located in the sea area, 46 km south of Methoni. According to the Geodynamic Institute, the source is located at a depth of 18.3 km, and the strength of the tremors is estimated at 4.2 on the Richter scale.
According to the Euro-Mediterranean Institute, the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.4 on the Richter scale.
