A total of 5,124 new public sector jobs will be covered by applications for the nationwide AΣEP competition, which will be held in two phases in 2023.
This is the first tender, the largest in the independent body’s 28-year history, and is expected to cover the upcoming 2022 and 2023 intakes. In fact, the Ministry of the Interior has already announced the exact number of permanent positions in the public sector that will be filled, as well as their distribution among departments by sector and specialty.
In particular, according to the recruitment plan for 2022 and 2023, this number will increase to 5124, of which 3502 posts in the field of university education (HE), 1565 posts in the field of technology education (TO) and 57 posts of special scientific officers (SSS).
The Call for Applications lists the required qualifications for the 33 PE Sectors and 23 TE Sectors, as well as the syllabus for the General Knowledge Examination Course, and candidates will be tested for skills and performance. The examination in both subjects will be conducted with multiple choice questions. Applicants will be asked to answer general knowledge questions and a skill and job performance test, replacing the work experience test, which will now have significantly lower scores. AΣEP list
Recall that with the introduction of this centralized recruitment procedure, it is expected to eliminate the fragmentation of procedures that existed so far with separate announcements for each institution. From now on, a single competition will be announced for broad categories, without specifying the position for which candidates will be accepted in case of successful completion. A legislative decree recently introduced by Interior Minister Makis Voridis creates a large “pool” of candidates for each sector and specialty from which institutions can recruit staff.
Job distribution
The Ministry explains that the distribution by ministry includes all positions in the central service, the general and special secretariats, decentralized regional services, as well as the NRC and NCOs, which are under the responsibility of each ministry. Positions in independent governments, decentralized administrations and local governments of the first and second levels are also aggregated.
The detailed distribution of posts by authority, headquarters, category and sector/specialty will be given in the notices of the second stage of the national writing competition, which will be open to those who receive the passing score required for participation in the competition/publication.
