Bloggers from Russia “conquered” a skyscraper in Malaysia – the second highest in the world. They are promised to be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
The Russians climbed onto the roof of the Malaysian skyscraper Merdeka with a height of 678 meters, the second tallest building in the world. On Wednesday, December 28, bloggers posted photos online that instantly became mega-popular. Numerous commentators under the pictures wondered if such an “ascent” was safe, and whether permission had been given for it from the tower’s management.
As it turned out, according to the Malaysian newspaper star, there really was no permit, and the owners of the building are threatening to sue. A spokesperson for tower owner PNB Merdeka Ventures said:
“Because the tower is privately owned, violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We are fully cooperating with the authorities on this matter. We want to emphasize that the Merdeka 118 building is still under active construction and safety remains our priority.”
A spokesman for the company added that anyone found breaking into the building would face legal action. The bloggers have been identified as Ivan Berkus (Kuznetsov) and Angela Nicolau, but there is no information about their detention.
