WhatsApp will stop working on some smartphones from December 31 – see which ones

Popular messaging service WhatsApp will stop working on many older smartphones, which is expected to affect millions of users around the world.

In particular, people with older iPhones and Androids will not be able to use WhatsApp after December 31 without an update. According to the British Daily Mail, WhatsApp will stop working on certain phone models, including the iPhone 5 or 5c, as well as several models of Huawei, LG and Samsung. “The application will no longer work on 49 gadget models. This time, only two iPhone models will lose access to the app, as well as many legacy Android smartphones,” WhatsApp said in a statement.

However, users of these phones will receive a notification from WhatsApp before it stops working. “Devices and software change frequently, so we regularly check which operating systems we support and make updates,” the popular messaging service said in a post.

As you know, WhatsApp stops supporting these smartphones due to their outdated operating systems, which means that they will not be able to support new updated versions of the application.
