Christmas masses in the Vatican

At the solemn mass in the Vatican, in St. Peter’s Basilica, seven thousand believers gathered, more than three thousand were present in the square.

Pope Francis held a divine service in St. Peter’s Basilica. Catholics and Protestants celebrate one of the main Christian holidays – Christmas. During the sermon, the pontiff recalled the children “absorbed by war, poverty and injustice.”

In Bethlehem, which, according to legend, is considered the birthplace of Jesus Christ, believers gathered in the Manger Square and in the Church of the Nativity.

After two years of covid restrictions around the world, foreign tourists have returned to the city for the Christmas holidays, all hotel rooms are occupied by numerous guests. At least 120,000 pilgrims are expected to visit Bethlehem.
