Greek Finance Minister Christos Staikouras announced on Monday the extension of the fuel oil subsidy. The measure was originally scheduled to end on December 31st.
“This measure will apply until March 31, 2023,” said Staikouras in an interview with Skai TV. However, the subsidy will be reduced from 25 cents per liter to 15 cents per liter, he added. The reason for the decline is a large drop in oil prices.
The exact rates (before and after VAT) that will apply from January 1, 2023 will be determined by a decision of the ministry.
