Belgian police have released photos of suitcases of money that Qatar handed over to “bribery” Eva Kylie, her family and associates.
Eva Kylie’s lawyer, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, said innocence his client. According to Kylie, she has nothing to do with the funding from Qatar and the allegations made against her. This is what her lawyer, Mr. Dimitrakopoulos, says:
“Her position is that she is innocent. This has nothing to do with funding from Qatar. I have no idea if any money was found, or how much was found. All I can tell you, because I talked to her sister, is that there is no crib for a small child where the hidden money was found. I directly deny this to you because her sister, Mrs. Magdalena Kaili, told me.”
Renowned lawyer, writes efsyn.gr, mentioned Kylie’s father: the Belgian authorities do not impose any conditions and restrictions on him, and he can return to Greece if he wants, however, “when a father sees his child in such a difficult situation, his place is next to him.”
After the discovery of Kylie’s father, with a suitcase of money in his hands, the situation changed dramatically…
Belgian police raided several addresses in Brussels, including offices of the European Parliament and 19 residential buildings.
According to the newspaperLe Soir“, more than one and a half million euros in cash were seized from Eva Kaili and Italian former MEP Pier Antonio Panzeri.
She and several other officials are accused of accepting bribes from Qatar in exchange for improving the country’s image in Europe ahead of the World Cup.
The former Greek journalist was responsible in the European Parliament for relations with the Middle East, and was also a member of the economic committee investigating corruption in EU.
As you will see in the photos released by the Belgian authorities, the suitcases with money in the photo are probably the same that Eva Kylie’s father was found with.
The Belgian authorities said in a statement: “As part of the case of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion of corruption against persons acting in the European Parliament, the Federal Judicial Police seized almost 1.5 million euros during searches carried out in the Brussels region.”
