About the word-weed and “neutral” islands

I don’t know when exactly the President of Turkey “learned” his now favorite word “demilitarization”, but lately he has begun to use it so often that one can already seriously talk about the weed word …

And everything would be fine, but Mr. Recep Tayyip uses it in connection with the Greek islands. These islands in the Aegean Sea have long been keeping the Turkish president awake. Constantly questioning their belonging to Greece, Turkey, under various pretexts, arranges the so-called demonstration of force, richly flavored with all sorts of threats … Of course, military threats. The last – complete brilliance – Erdogan said that the Turkish Typhoon missile could well reach Athens … No comment, as they say.

And somehow the words that the Turkish president makes all these statements “within the country”, is preparing for the elections, wants the voters to see that their president is a hard nut to crack, man! The most interesting thing is that all the threats to Turkey are made, allegedly in response to the aggressive policy of Greece! One thing you cannot suspect of our politicians is their aggressiveness towards Turkey. I call such aggressiveness, limited to notes of protest and statements by ministers, softness.

Yes, the very fact that another state, I do not want to offend anyone, itself, like a patchwork quilt, consisting of pieces taken from other states, calls into question the sovereignty of the Greek islands – is already a reason for indignation. And why should our islands be neutral, that is, Erdogan’s “demilitarized”? Yes, with such a neighbor who does not hide that he can slander around Athens? I don’t know any international agreements on this topic and I don’t want to know – the price of international agreements, alas, is low …

With such an “ego” as Erdogan’s, the transition from words to deeds can be very short-lived … What if he does not pretend to the voters and the truth can start a war? In this case, our “de … s” islands will become Turkish within a day … Come in, good people, take everything you like …

By no means am I calling for war, God forbid… But remembering how Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, a year and a half before Agia Sophia was turned into a mosque, personally proved to me that Turkey cares about the Christian heritage, I think that trust our neighbors is not worth it. Not when they seem to be pretending, not when they seem to be sincere. And there must be weapons on our islands, they are not neutral at all, they are Greek: what we consider necessary, we place on them. They were Greek, they are and will be. With God’s help.
