Erdogan’s aggressive threats and the response of the Greek Foreign Minister

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias condemned Ankara’s threats to launch a missile attack on Athens.

At a meeting with journalists upon arrival at a meeting of the Council EU At the level of foreign ministers on Monday, the head of the Greek Foreign Ministry said:

“It is unacceptable and absolutely condemned to express threats of a missile attack on Greece by an ally country, a member of NATO. Way of thinking [на манер] North Korea cannot and should not have a place in the North Atlantic Alliance.”

Last Sunday Greek newspaper “Efimerida ton sindakton” noted that Turkish President Erdogan continued his aggressive rhetoric, used over the past few months, against Greece. At an event in the northern province of Samsun, he said Turkey’s test of a ballistic missile scared Greece, stressing that the missile could also hit Athens.

Tests of the Typhoon ballistic missile, developed by the Turkish company Roketsan, were carried out by Turkey in October over the Black Sea. She hit the target at a distance of 561 km in 458 seconds. In November, the Turkish president said that the nearest plans are to increase the range of this missile and implement innovative projects to create missile weapons, writes GreekReporter.
