Greek law enforcement agencies liquidated a gang whose members robbed kiosks in the northern outskirts of Athens – Holargos and Agia Paraskevi.
In particular, according to ΕΛΑΣan 18-year-old boy and four of his underage accomplices were arrested while trying to rob a kiosk in Cholargos.
Police officers of the Immediate Response Squad (Άμεσης Δράσης) identified individuals that matched the description they already had. And during the inspection, 2 knives, a bag of marijuana and other prohibited items were found on the offenders.
The detainees were taken to the North East Attica Security Directorate, where they were identified as criminals and arrested.
Cholargos: the gang has been attacking kiosks since November 22
After an investigation by the authorities, it was determined that the detainees were members of a gang whose activities had been aimed at breaking into stalls in Cholargos and Agia Paraskevi since at least 22 November.
As for the actions of the gang, they approached the kiosks on foot and, threatening them with weapons or knives (having first put masks – balaclavas on their faces), immobilized the kiosks and emptied the cash register.
As a result of the investigation, it was established that the members of the gang had committed at least -4- committed robberies in kiosks and -2- in attempted robbery in the above manner.
The arrested were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
